Crisis counselors are trained to answer calls, chats, or texts from LGBTQ young people who reach out on our the, confidential and secure 24/7 service when they are struggling with issues such as coming out, LGBTQ identity, depression, and suicide. People can call the number above, text ‘START’ to 678-678 or use an online chat option on the website.

UNM-Taos is one of the newest and smallest of the UNM branches. UNM-Taos offers many degree and certificate programs, and a wide range of general education and pre-professional programs that prepare you for success whether you transfer to a four-year institution or enter the job market. UNM-Taos serves over 1,100 students from a service area including the counties of Taos, Rio Arriba and Colfax, and the Pueblo Nations of Taos and Picuris. Financial assistance is available.

Veterans Stress Solution, through their web site, offers All Military Status, Veterans and family members, free sessions using Energy Psychology, a method which many therapists and coaches are using to help people with PTSD get their lives back. They offer 10 free sessions per person, 2 from each of their 5 services (EFT/Tapping, Hypnotherapy, HeartMath, EMDR, Life Coaching). Veterans can schedule a 15 min clarity call with one of the providers to explore how they can help you. They currently support Spanish speakers with their provider in Europe.

Visions strives to provide superior service and the most current information available. Services provided in Colfax and Union counties: DD Waiver Case Management, Mi Via Consulting, and Support Broker services for the Self Direct Community Benefit through Centennial Care. There is Spanish speaking staff on both the DD and Mi Via waivers, but not as of right now for centennial care.

Youth Heartline provides a variety of services including supervised visitation and safe exchanges (parents can have meetings with their children in the Youth Heartline offices) that allow parents to bond with their children in a safe space and help for child victims of domestic violence. Youth Heartline runs a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) program that provides court advocates for children who are removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. There is also Northeast NM Youth Housing Program that offers housing to homeless youth, as well as education, job placement, life skills, case management, and drug testing for nonviolent youth. Youth Heartline does street outreach in Union and Colfax counties to connect with homeless adults, provide them with basic needs, and act as abridge between them and other services. In COLFAX county ONLY, there is the Family Empowerment program in which a coordinator conducts a monthly meeting with a family to build communication and connection within the family unit. Everything but the Family Empowerment program serves individuals in BOTH COLFAX and UNION counties.
