Support Groups

Alateen is a fellowship of young Al-Anon members, usually teenagers, whose lives have been affected by someone else's drinking; they come together to share, discuss, learn, encourage and help each other to recover from the effects of the disease of alcoholism. These meetings are limited to Alateens and Al-Anon Members in Alateen Service. These meetings are on ZOOM. Tuesday at 7:00 pm and Saturday at 1:30 pm. The Alzheimer’s Association New Mexico Chapter provides support, education, training and other resources to increase knowledge and to support those facing Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. The Lung HelpLine (you can connect by calling 1-800-LUNGUSA (1-800-586-4872 and press 2)) is staffed with licensed registered nurses, respiratory therapists and certified tobacco treatment specialists. In addition, there are bilingual Spanish speaking staff along with a live language interpretation service for over 250 languages.

The Anxiety and Depression Association of America offers online support groups as safe spaces for those affected by anxiety and depression to talk to others who truly understand. There is a separate online group for those who speak Spanish.

Cancer Services of New Mexico is an independent, non-profit, organization that provides services to reduce cancer suffering for New Mexico’s families. Programs include: Family Cancer Retreat (virtual and in-person), "LIPA" program offers free, expert Legal, Insurance and Paperwork Assistance to cancer patients/survivors residing in New Mexico, caregiver support program, family cancer resource bags, and cancer treatment organizer.

In D.A. you can find a new way of living that offers recovery from compulsive debting and hope for a healthier, happier, more prosperous life. There are several virtual support groups, as well as ones offered via the telephone. Check the website for a full schedule of support groups offered; Spanish support groups available.

The First United Methodist Church of Raton runs a food distribution on the 4th Friday of every month. Right now the distribution site changes, so those interested can stop by the church or contact the church to find out where the distribution will be taking place. The church also runs Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) support groups. Church hours are 9 am to 1 pm Monday thru Friday.

The Grief Resource Center offers virtual support groups via zoom for those experiencing a loss of a loved one from September through May. Complete schedule can be found on the website, with details about how to register. Specific groups for specific situations and groups of people.

All women interested in breastfeeding are welcome to attend the monthly group meetings or call a leader for breastfeeding help. Donations are welcome. La Leche League also provides health care professionals with continuing education opportunities and access to the latest research on lactation management.

MaleSurvivor is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, public benefit organization committed to preventing, healing, and eliminating all forms of sexual victimization of boys and men through support, treatment, research, education, advocacy, and activism. The website offers a Support Forum & Chat, Support Groups and Other Resources, Webinars, Live Events, MaleSurvivor Events, and an Empowerment Blog.

Support Groups are an opportunity to share your experiences openly and freely in a safe setting. Sharing your journey will not only offer you a sense of empowerment, but will help others in finding reassurance and learning new strategies to living with MG. There are virtual support groups for anyone living with MG, for those who only speak Spanish, and for caregivers of people with MG. Check website for complete schedule.

NAMI Santa Fe, in response to the COVID-19 virus, is offering the NAMI Family Support Group meetings on-line using the ZOOM tele-conferencing program as well as in person. NAMI Santa Fe’s Family Support Group is a free, drop-in, peer-led support group for family members, caregivers, and loved ones of individuals living with mental illness. The ZOOM Meetings take place:
1st Monday of the Month: Noon
4th Monday of the Month: 6 PM

National Veterans Wellness and Healing Center is providing week long retreats for Veterans, Active Duty Military, Reservists, and their significant others who have been diagnosed with PTS (post traumatic stress). The retreats offer traditional and non-traditional healing methods. Included throughout the week are a mix of Native American healing ceremonies, equine reintegration training, massage, yoga, aroma therapy, acupuncture, art therapy, reiki, along with couples and group counseling sessions.
The 2022 Retreats have been scheduled for the following dates:
June 5-12
August 21-28
October 23-30
All Retreats are a total of seven and a half (7 1/2) days. All attendees must commit to the full seven and a half days.
All lodging, meals and meetings are paid by National Veterans Wellness and Healing. Transportation to and from the Retreats is the responsibility of the attendees.

Pain Connection is a support group program of the U.S. Pain Foundation. Currently, all groups are meeting via Zoom. To register please fill out the form at the link below and an email confirmation will be sent to you with a zoom link.

Overeaters Anonymous (OA) is a community of people who support each other in order to recover from compulsive eating and food behaviors. They welcome everyone who feels they have a problem with food. There are several virtual support groups offered. See the website for a complete list, with details on which ones are offered in English, Spanish, and other languages, as well as for how to register and join. There are also telephone support groups offered in English, Spanish, and other languages.

The following services are offered in-person, with virtual services offered statewide (when possible):
Intensive Outpatient Treatment - adolescent and adult groups to address substance use disorders; evidenced-based Matrix Model program.
Medically Assisted Treatment - federally approved medications for substance use disorders.
Individual Therapy - clinically led treatment planning and quality client care.
Medication Management - treatment of mental health and co-occurring disorders.
Treat-First - expedited access to care.
Comprehensive Community Support Services - clinically led social supports addressing socialization, recreation, education, independent living, and vocation.
Sex Offender Treatment Program - offered virtually statewide by trained and certified providers.

- Level 0.5: Early Intervention & Aftercare
- Level I: Outpatient Treatment (OP)
- Level II: Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP)
- Counseling Services and Education
